Scott Geer

Scott Geer has a passion for trees that goes back to his academic training in forestry and forest entomology. With a bachelor?s degree in forestry and a master?s in forest entomology from Stephen F. Austin State University, Scott went to work as a forester for a small lumber company in Woodville, Texas, and then the U.S. Forest Service in Alexandria, Louisiana.

In 1980, Scott began a 28-year career in the expanding IT industry, working for IBM and other smaller companies. During this time, Scott stayed current on trends in natural resources management, and in 2008 he returned to his first love and began working full-time as an ISA certified arborist.

Scott brings a wealth of business and technical experience to his passion for trees in the urban landscape. He is a certified Master Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and is a graduate of the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA) Academy.

As the owner and principal consulting arborist for Tree Shepherds, Scott seeks to provide a full suite of arboriculture consulting services, which are focused on the long-term health and beauty of his clients? trees.

Scott and his wife, Noreen, have raised six children in Lewisville, Texas, and continue to reside in that community.
