Scott Geer, ISA Board Certified Master Arborist

Scott Geer has a passion for trees that goes back to his academic training in forestry and forest entomology. With a bachelor’s degree in forestry and a master’s in forest entomology from Stephen F. Austin State University, Scott went to work as a forester for a small lumber company in Woodville, Texas, and then the U.S. Forest Service in Alexandria, Louisiana.

In 1980, Scott began a 28-year career in the expanding IT industry, working for IBM and other smaller companies. During this time, Scott stayed current on trends in natural resources management, and in 2008 he returned to his first love and began working full-time as an ISA certified arborist.

Scott brings a wealth of business and technical experience to his passion for trees in the urban landscape. He is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Board Certified Master Arborist and a graduate of the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA) Academy.

In May 2022, Scott retired from full time consulting. He continues to oversee Tree Shepherds’ team of certified arborists and the company’s operations, focusing on the long-term health and beauty of trees.

Scott and his wife, Noreen, have raised six children in Lewisville, Texas, and continue to reside in that community.
